Ho Chi Minh City, June 10, 2025 – Today, an important meeting took place between Mr. Peter Carter, the Mayor of Port Hedland, Australia, and representatives from two leading companies in Vietnam: HUDECO Joint Stock Company and HDCS Trading, Service and Distribution Joint Stock Company. The main focus of the meeting was to discuss cooperation opportunities to expand the import-export market in Australia.
Port Hedland, with its strategic location and being one of the largest ports in the world in terms of export cargo volume, especially iron ore, and clean industry, is becoming a potential destination for Vietnamese businesses. With the desire to strengthen bilateral economic relations, the meeting opened up new prospects for establishing long-term and sustainable partnerships.
During the meeting, Mr. Peter Carter shared about the economic development potential of Port Hedland, investment incentive policies, and a favorable business environment in Western Australia. He also emphasized the desire to welcome Vietnamese businesses to explore and invest, especially in areas where HUDECO and HDCS have strengths.
Representatives of HUDECO and HDCS expressed deep interest in the Australian market and presented the company's capabilities and experience in the import-export field. The parties discussed in detail the potential products and services that could be exported to Australia, as well as the ability to import necessary items from this market to meet domestic demand.
All three parties expressed optimism about future cooperation opportunities. The meeting laid a solid foundation for developing specific strategies to boost trade turnover between Vietnam and Australia, contributing to the overall development of both economies.
HUDECO and HDCS are committed to continuing to research and thoroughly exploit these opportunities, aiming to strongly expand their presence in the Australian market in the near future.
